PRIVACY POLICY FOR MOBILE APPLICATION "MATCH DAY"

Last updated: June 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy governs your use of the software application Match Day (the "Application") for Android mobile devices.

Match Day is a lightweight, offline-first Android application for following a 2026 national-team football tournament: match schedule, results, group tables, the knockout bracket, top scorers, stadiums, and your favorite teams. Tournament data comes from the public-domain openfootball dataset (CC0) and is cached on your device so the Application works offline.

What information does the Application obtain and how is it used?

User-provided information

The Application does not require user registration and does not require you to create an account.

The Application does not ask you to submit personal profile information in order to use its core tournament-tracking functionality.

In-app choices and local app state

The Application may store simple local app state on your device, such as your favorite teams, notification preferences, theme choice, and similar in-app settings needed for the Application to function smoothly.

The Application connects to the internet only to download the public-domain tournament data (openfootball) and to request advertisements (see below). It may show local notifications on your device (for example about a favorite team's upcoming match or a score change).

Favorites, settings, and the cached tournament data are processed locally on your device by the Application and are not stored on a first-party remote server controlled by the Application publisher.

Advertising

The Application displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. To serve ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google may collect and process certain data, which can include your device's advertising identifier (AD_ID), coarse usage and device information, and similar identifiers, in accordance with Google's policies. This data is handled by Google, not by a first-party server of the Application publisher.

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, the Application asks for your consent to personalized advertising through Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent form. You can review or change your choice at any time in the Application under Settings → Manage ad consent.

For details on how Google uses data when you use apps that contain ads, see Google's advertising policy.

Automatically collected information

Apart from the advertising functionality described above, the Application does not use first-party analytics or tracking, and the Application publisher does not automatically collect information about you or send your in-app data to the publisher.

Do third parties see and/or have access to information obtained by the Application?

The advertising provider (Google AdMob / Google) may access data needed to serve ads, as described in the "Advertising" section above and governed by Google's own policies. Aside from this, the Application publisher does not provide a first-party backend that receives your favorites, local app settings, or usage history, and the Application does not share such information with other third parties.

What are my choices and opt-out rights?

Data retention policy, managing your information

First-party data used by the Application (favorites, settings, cached tournament data) is processed locally on your device. The Application publisher does not maintain a first-party online account database or first-party cloud storage for your app usage. Data processed by Google for advertising is retained by Google according to its policies.

If you want to remove locally stored Application data, you can do so by clearing the app's data or by uninstalling the Application from your device.

Security

We are concerned about safeguarding information processed locally on your mobile device. The Application relies on Android platform security and the Application's private app storage where applicable.

Please be aware that no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. You should keep your device and Android operating system up to date and install Application updates when available.

Children

The Application is not directed to children under the age at which parental consent is required under applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information directly to the Application publisher, please use the contact details below.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Changes become effective when they are posted on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically.

Your consent

By using the Application, you consent to the processing described in this Privacy Policy, namely local on-device processing by the Application and, where applicable and subject to your consent, advertising processing by Google as described above.
